Conservation work at Pensthorpe

On Saturday the 1st of March 2014 the Holt Youth Project took a group of Young People to volunteer at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve.

Duties included: pensthorpe

  • Chopping down willow
  • Bonfire
  • Team working
  • Lopping small branches

The young people all got stuck into sawing, felling and lopping, eventually burning it all on a big bonfire. They all worked amazingly in a team with everyone doing different jobs. Everyone enjoyed their time at Pensthorpe and agreed to go back again in a couple of weeks to finish the area they started clearing.

It was a lovely atmosphere and nice to see the young people volunteering their time for the sake of their environment.Pensthorpe
