Groups
As well as providing a social hub for the young people of Holt and the surrounding areas, we run a range of regular groups, dedicated to answering specific needs within the county.
Senior hive 12 – 19 years
Senior Hive is the beating heart of Holt Youth Project, where 12–19-year-olds can socialise, build friendships, and explore fun and engaging activities that inspire confidence and fuel their ambition.
Our youth-led sessions give young people a voice and ownership of their experiences, offering opportunities that reflect their interests and needs. From football, hockey, badminton, and dodgeball in the sports hall, to cookery workshops, horticulture, and personal fitness in the gym, every activity has been designed to help build skills and self-confidence. Creative workshops in music, arts, crafts, woodwork, and health and wellbeing provide fresh ways to learn and express individuality. With guidance from our supportive team, Senior Hive empowers young people to reach their potential and pursue their aspirations.
Junior hive 7 – 11 years
A preventative programme of activities appropriate, with the guidance of our friendly staff and volunteers, children develop social and communication skills while building a strong sense of belonging, promoting team building, confidence and self-esteem whilst enjoying sport, cookery workshops, arts and crafts in a safe, supportive environment.
Mini hive 5 – 7 years
A structured, fun programme of activities appropriate, in a safe, nurturing environment, promoting team building, creativity and providing support with attachment issues.
Young carers
North Norfolk Young Carers, established in 2011, supports children and young people with caring responsibilities at home. Weekly sessions provide mentoring, peer support, and time to enjoy activities such as bowling, cinema trips, or simply socialising together.
We also offer regular respite weekends and opportunities to build valuable life skills. Working in partnership with Carers Matter, we provide targeted advice and guidance, ensuring young carers feel supported, understood, and given space to just be themselves.
SPace
SPace is our dedicated support, mentoring, and wellbeing service for young people aged 12 to 18 years who find themselves isolated in their home environment. It provides young people experiencing feelings of anxiety and emotional difficulties with support to move forward.
Through one-to-one support and a nurturing, holistic approach, SPace helps young people build confidence and develop coping strategies. The focus is on empowering them to move forward, unlock potential, and feel positive about their future.
ACT
The ACT Programme (Achieving Confidence Training) is an alternative provision for young people struggling with emotional issues or finding it difficult to engage in mainstream school or college. We offer a nurturing, family-style environment with support tailored to individual needs.
Working at their own pace, students gain confidence, life skills, and communication skills while working towards accredited City and Guilds qualifications. ACT helps young people believe in themselves, broaden horizons and take positive next steps into our other services or education, training, work, or community.
Reboot
Reboot is a group for young men aged 18–25 who may be experiencing emotional difficulties, isolation, or a sense of hopelessness. It was created in response to a clear need in our community.
The group provides a safe, supportive space to talk, share experiences, and build connections. Through conversation, emotional support, and appropriate activities, Reboot helps young men feel less alone, regain confidence, and take positive steps forward in life.
Reboot is so important to me; I have made new friends and can share my thoughts and worries in our walk and talk sessions. I feel better for talking. I have become more independent.
Holidays
Our Holiday Programmes give age-appropriate activities for children and young people, providing them with a chance to experience exciting activities during school breaks and weekends. From cookery workshops to tie-dying, or canoeing to mountain biking, these opportunities open doors to adventures they might not otherwise try.
We also offer residential trips and endurance challenges, such as the Hadrian’s Wall cycling challenge over two and a half days. With support from our team, we offer an endurance training programme locally and in our gym to take on this challenge. The young people gain confidence, resilience, and team-building skills, memories that last a lifetime.
If you have any questions about the groups we offer, or if you’d like to discuss particular needs or concerns, drop us a line and one of our dedicated team will be happy to help
