Youth activities
Holt Youth Project is a place to follow your interests, try new things, or just hang out with friends and relax.
We deliver a wide variety of activities and services to support the diverse interests and needs of our young people, from sports and fitness to creative projects, social groups, outward bound and residentials, one-to-one support, and much more. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring that every young person who comes along to Holt Youth Project has an opportunity to socialise, learn, grow, feel at ease, and above all, have fun!
The activities we offer are designed to inspire, challenge, and support our young people. From keeping active to exploring creativity and learning new skills, there’s something for everyone to get involved in and enjoy.
Sports & fitness
Members can dive into football, basketball, cricket, and more in our sports hall, or join gym sessions at the Health Hut. We also run regular trips to try out a range of activities including rock climbing, canoeing, mountain-biking, archery and much more.
Creativity
For those wanting to flex their creativity, there are hands-on art and up-cycling projects where members can experiment with different materials, techniques and tools under supervision. We also run music workshops with professional tutors, which provide opportunities to perform and showcase new skills.
Cultivating & cooking
Our on-site allotment gives our young people an opportunity to grow fresh produce that can then be harvested and used in the cookery workshops we run in our well-equipped kitchen. Members learn practical life skills from seed to plate and get to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals!
Wellbeing & outdoors
We’re lucky enough to be based in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, in Norfolk. Being surrounded by calming open spaces allows us to make great use of nature as a therapeutic tool and to capitalise on the benefits of the outdoors as a setting for well-being and mentoring work.
IT skills
Members get full use of our IT suite, where they can learn new digital skills and enhance their IT knowledge. From computer literacy to safe online practices, we also offer opportunities to gain qualifications that could help with employability.
Relax with friends
At the root of everything we do is the simple offer of a welcoming, safe and relaxed place for local young people to call their own. Alongside the organised activities we provide, we aim to give our members space to hang out and be themselves with light touch input, advice, and assistance from our friendly team when needed.
Experiences and opportunities
We’re passionate about taking every opportunity we can to offer our young people access to activities that broaden their horizons and foster new ambitions.
Holt Youth Project is incredibly lucky to have some fantastic and very generous patrons who have facilitated these kinds of brilliant experiences, not least Holt Youth Project patron and Oscar Winner, Olivia Coleman.
In late 2025, Olivia and the Koko Foundation in London hosted a group of Holt Youth Project members for an inspiring day of creativity, confidence and new opportunities, showing what’s possible when young people are given space to dream big.
